“Dinner at the Dump” has change venue in its 4th year to become “Dinner at the Warehouse” on October 11 at 6:00 pm when Power Inn’s pioneer developer Buzz Oates will be guest of honor. Feting a person of influence in this area is just one of several new features of the Annual Dinner.

Also planned is a benefit for the Sacramento Local Conservation Corps plus political comedian Will Durst, who will have just returned from both the Democrat and Republican conventions armed with equally-offending remarks.

In addition, an array of valuable gifts, from a Rolling Stones autographed guitar to golf excursions, fishing trips and more will be up for the Live and Silent Auctions, as well as a special raffle for a wine refrigerator loaded with premium wines.

“This is our best networking event of the year and we expect a big crowd,” said Jerry Mayberry, chairman of the dinner and manager of Allied Waste Co. “This is also our annual fundraiser and we’re happy to share the proceeds with the Conservation Corps, which does such a great job of environmental clean-up and career training for troubled youths.”

Local political leaders are always on hand and again expected to turn out in abundance just three weeks before the elections. This is also the first year the Dinner will feature a nationally known comedian. “I’ll have my guns ready and my powder dry,” said San Franciscan Will Durst. And I love Sacramento.”

Tickets for "Dinner at the Warehouse" are $65 each, and sponsorships are available beginning at $750 per table. Early reservations are highly recommended. Contact Barb Nobriga at barb@powerinn.org or 453-8888.

Poised to attract clean energy and technology companies, the Power Inn Alliance will be featured at the Clean Energy Showcase, Sept. 26 at CSUS.
POWER INN AREA TO SHOWCASE AT CLEAN ENERGY SHOWCASE SEPT. 26
******************************************************************* The Power Inn Alliance, highlighting clean tech business opportunities, will be on display at the Clean Energy Showcase Venture Expo on Friday, September 26 at Sacramento State University Ballroom. The all-day event, which drew over 300 people last year at UC Davis, is sponsored by SARTA and CleanStart.

“The Power Inn Area stands poised to attract clean energy and technology companies,” said Alliance Executive Director Jerry Vorpahl. “We’re in the shadow of CSUS which is driving a lot of clean energy and green technology innovation, we surround Sacramento’s new Clean Technology Enterprise Zone, and we have plenty of office space and land available at a very attractive price.”

The Sacramento Region is a “hub” for Clean Energy Technology, proclaimed a recent article in the Wall Street Journal. The region boasts nearly 100 Clean Technology companies providing solar, wind, biofuel, energy efficient technology and much more. Showcase participants will include inventors and entrepreneurs, as well as representatives from local incubators, venture capitalists, government, universities, non-profits, real estate developers, and industry experts. They will discuss why Sacramento region's clean tech sector is growing so rapidly and meet dozens of companies that are making it happen. “We expect a good turn out from Alliance members,” said Vorpahl.
