*******************************************************************On Wednesday, December 17 Alliance members and area businesses will have their first opportunity to visit the new Power Inn Alliance and Economic Development Center offices at 5310 Power Inn Road. The event is also a special Christmas benefit for the kids at St. John’s Shelter as the price of admission for members is $15 or a new, unwrapped toy; nonmebers pay $20 or $5 plus a toy. BOARD UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSES CITY'S 2030 GENERAL PLAN
******************************************************************* At its November 18 meeting, the Alliance Board of Directors unanimously endorsed the 2030 General Plan after a presentation by Manager of Long Range Planning, Tom Pace. Pace and Sr. Planner Alan Porter several times previously presented aspects of the plan to both the Economic Development and Planing and Zoning Advisory (PZAC) Committees, and several Alliance members have been involved in plan formation for the past two years.
The following week, Executive Director Jerry Vorpahl testified before the City Council in support of the plan, citing the "65th St./University Village Opportunity Area" as a major factor in adding mixed use housing, business and technology along the Power Inn Corridor. "While we believe the plan is good for the entire city, we think it's particularly beneficial for that area that runs from CSUS and 65th St. along Folsom Blvd. to Watt Ave," he told the Council.
