NEW JOBS ON TAP AS NESTLE WATERS SIGNS LEASE IN POWER INN AREA
******************************************************************** $14 million will be pumped into the local economy when Nestle Waters North America, Inc. converts a Buzz Oates warehouse on Younger Creek Drive into a two-line bottling plant next year.
The new plant will employee about 16 construction workers and 40 people full time after opening. Best known for brands such as Perrier and Calistoga, Nestle Waters will bottle its Pure Life and Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water at this location using over 150 acre-feet of water per year – enough to fill the retention basin near Power Inn Rd. and the railroad tracks.
“Nestle Waters looks forward to building strong partnerships in the Power Inn Area as both an employer and neighbor,” said Chris Kemp, who will be the plant manager. He also stated that the company had looked at nearly every possible site in Northern California before selecting the Power Inn Area because of its central location, affordability and business-friendly environment.
Landing the bottling plant was the result of a team effort with SACTO, the Sacramento Economic Development Dept. and The Alliance. “We greatly appreciate the work and support of The Power Inn Alliance in this achievement,” said Economic Development Manager and Alliance director Jim Rinehart.
The warehouse Nestle Waters will occupy on a 10-year lease is owned by Oates Investment, which was represented in the transaction by Cable & Kilpatrick, Inc

PIONEER DEVELOPER JOHN JACKSON, JR. TO BE HONORED AT ANNUAL “DINNER AT THE WAREHOUSE”
******************************************************************** For over 30 years, Jackson Properties has built its reputation as developer/builder of impressive office parks and buildings in the Power Inn Area as well as throughout Sacramento. This year The Alliance will honor president and owner John Jackson, Jr. as a “Pioneer Developer” who has helped make the area one of the best business and industry addresses in Northern California.
With a BS degree in Civil Engineering from UC Davis, and over 30 years experience in the construction and development industry, Jackson personally lends his expertise to the staff for each and every project. He is an active community leader with memberships on several boards including Christian Brothers High School and KVIE. “You can’t go far in the Power Inn Area without seeing a Jackson office building or attractive business park,” said Alliance CEO Jerry Vorpahl.
Sharing honors with Jackson, will be the Sacramento Police Foundation which will reap part of the proceeds from the auction that is a big part of the Dinner event.
“This is a good opportunity to honor a true believer in the Power Inn Area while having fun and supporting a good cause like the Police Foundation that does such great work with kids and is in need of funding as are all police programs,” said Vorpahl.
“Dinner at the Warehouse” will be Saturday, Sept. 19 at 4540 Florin Perkins Rd. For tickets or sponsorship opportunities, contact Barb Nobriga at barb@powerinn.org or 453-8888.
