Long time Sacramento developer John Jackson, Jr, chairman of Jackson Properties, will be honored as “Pioneer Developer” at the Annual Dinner of the Power Inn Alliance on Saturday, Sept. 19.

Jackson, Jr., a fourth generation Sacramentan, started his development company after working with his father John, Sr. in the masonry construction business over 30 years ago and has built over 6 million square feet of Class-A office space from El Dorado Hills to Elk Grove. He began with small office space from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet, but soon realized the need for larger buildings and business parks as Sacramento grew east and south. His first major project was the Power Inn Industrial Park on Power Inn Road.

The Power Inn Alliance, a business improvement district, cited Jackson for bringing “Business, jobs and prosperity to many.". He has developed 13 business and office parks in the Power Inn area alone and was active in the formation of The Alliance over 15 years ago. In addition, Jackson has constructed over 30 Churches throughout the greater Sacramento area.

Outside of business, Jackson sponsors three scholarships for the Elk Grove Community Education Foundation and serves on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, Christian Brothers High School. He is also on the board of KVIE. Jackson lives in Slough House with his wife Lynda where he tends a 4-acre vineyard and bottles a fine Sangiovese he calls “Papa’s Red” in honor of his dad.
