VISION SURVEY TO SET GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR FUTURE POWER INN
******************************************************************** In April, 2009, the Power Inn Alliance created the Power Inn Vision Task Force with Dain Domich as chairman and charged with designing an over-arching document to shape the future of the Power Inn Area. Business owners, land owners and City department heads met several times each month to address key areas of concern: Development, Transportation, Education, Environment, The Innovation Village and Image. Their discussions, study, sometimes wrangling resulted in these Guiding Principles Going Forward.
But this document is only the first draft and awaits input from other strategic partners with a stake in Power Inn. They are invited to review these 20 concise statements and give the Task Force the benefit of their opinion and comments.
Much is happening in the Power Inn Area right now – SARTA has relocated here, the Clean Tech Showcase and Clean Tech Summit have drawn large crowds, and it's been designated one of five Priority Development Areas in the City. The Alliance, through the Vision Task Force intends to shape a future that will make it the most successful business, industrial and technology proving grounds in Northern California.
Stakeholder participation is highly important to the development of the final Guiding Principles and ultimate success of the Power Inn Area. The survey is in the mail to all members and can be found on line at the link below.

OCT. 29 BUSINESS WALK WITH METRO CHAMBER TO ADDRESS LOCAL BUSINESSES ISSUES
******************************************************************** City officials and regional business people will take part in a walking tour of businesses in the Power Inn Area. Tour participants are looking to gain valuable feedback on what organizations like about doing business here, as well as areas for improvement.
Last year, some 50 participants worked in teams to meet over 150 business owners and managers in a single morning. "It's the single best PR program we have all year," said Alliance CEO Jerry Vorpahl.
In addition to the Metro Chamber, which brings its Ambassadors to the Walk, the City Department of Economic Development also participates. "We've found this to be an excellent retention tool as well," said Economic Manager Jim Rinehart.
Area business owners and managers are asked to take a few minutes to share their thoughts with the volunteer teams that stop by. Plus, "Thank You" bags full of goodies and valuable information are provided.
Business people interested in building a network with other area business people are invited to participate. The event begins with breakfast and ends with a hearty lunch.
To register, call The Alliance at 453-8888 or click here. |
